The Game 

A friendship simulator, if given time it would be a method of developing boundaries and consideration for others into the younger generation (12+). while providing dark and entertaining themes for the older generation; with interesting characters and developments through the stories shown.

About

This was a project that was given to us by Into Games while on their virtual work experience (VWEX) where they gave a brief that we had completed in 5 days almost like a game jam. We had the opportunity to have a daily stand-up with a mentor who is from Dambuster located in Nottingham.

We got a chance to do this amazing opportunity that we learned so much from and will bring the experience we gained with us through our careers in the games industry through our college, Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies.

Brief

We continue to work on our unreleased game titled ‘Project Worms’ an action roguelike game that sees you trying to escape from a malevolent creeping horror.

We would like you to create a Dialogue System for Project Worms that can be expanded on in the future!

You'll need to create:

• A pop up a text box which draws the text on the screen by some ceremony (word by word or letter by letter)
• Stylised text box to suit art style
• Pop up to include Character Art (this can be supplied if required)
• Animation for the dialogue box appearing
• Allow the the player to control the speed of the text
• Player to be presented with two options of responding
• Responses A and B to proceed into two dialogues, separate from and
• different to each other (a branched conversation).
• Provide sound effects to the content appearing on the screen and the player navigating the dialogue choice (including their selection)
• End sequence, animation and sound effects as it disappears.
